How many tournaments does D1BA do each season? Are there overnight trips required?
A typical season includes between 6-8 tournaments; most tournaments are within an hour to hour and half drive from our location in Westtown, PA. Coaches will share a draft tournament schedule during the parent meeting in February. Overnight tournaments will be determined by the coaches after getting input from parents. Overnight accommodation costs will be separate from program costs.
How much does it cost to participate in D1’s AAU team?
D1 works each year to determine the price for the upcoming season and it is shared with parents at tryouts. The primary driver of an AAU team costs (95%) are tournament fees and gym time for practices and training. D1’s team fee generally breaks down to less than $10/hour invested in your student athlete.
Does the team fee include uniforms? Are there mandatory uniform requirements?
Yes, the uniform costs are now included in the club fee. Our uniform package for 2024 will include bag, uniforms - home/away and a practice pinnie. We do not have a mandatory team sneaker but ask that players have blue, navy or black sneakers to improve the overall consistent look of the team.
What if you are not able to afford the upfront program costs?
It is D1’s goal that all qualified players get the opportunity to participate in our program. We do not want any student athlete to be excluded from tryouts or playing for D1 because of costs. We are eager to help families make arrangements that work for everyone and allow all student athletes to participate on a D1 team. If need need to discuss in advance of tryouts please email us.
